Judgment of Compliance    


Rationale for Judgment of Compliance    

At this time, Athens State University is in compliance with this standard with an overall 73.18 percent of the discipline course hours taught by faculty members holding the terminal degree. As illustrated in Table 1, as of spring 2009, the majority of the baccalaureate discipline majors were taught by Athens State faculty members in the College of Arts and Sciences by 83.26 percent who held terminal degrees. The College of Business has 60.21 percent of its credit hour production taught by faculty with a terminal degree. The College of Education has 77.52 percent of its credit hour production taught by faculty with a terminal degree. Additionally, within the College of Education two faculty members have been identified as ABD, all but dissertation. All colleges are in compliance with Comprehensive Standard 3.5.4.
