Athens State University has adequate procedures for addressing written student complaints. The Athens State University Catalog provides students with notice of the University’s Sexual Harassment Grievance Procedure. The Sexual Harassment Policy and a Grievance Procedure are located in the 2009-2010 Student Planner and Handbook. A more detailed step-by-step grievance procedure can be obtained by students from the Coordinator of Student Activities. This Coordinator also maintains documentation of written student complaints. If a faculty member and a student are unable to resolve a grade dispute informally, the student may appeal the dispute to the Dean of the College. Students may request review of a final grade for any ASU course and the procedure is in the ASU catalog.
